Artur Israyelyan, PhD, Associate Professor, head of the chair
1997-2004- A.Israyelyan studied at the Faculty of Oriental Studies- Department of Arabic Studies.
2007- A.Israyelyan graduated from Damascus University, Department of History (Ph.D.)
2010- Acting Head of the Oriental Languages Chair.
In the last decade Armenia had a positive progress in developing diplomatic relations with Eastern countries. The necessity of the professors of oriental languages was one of the main reasons for opening this chair, where the students have an opportunity to learn different oriental languages.
The following languages are taught:
- Arabic
- Korean
- Hindi
- Chinese
- Persian
- Turkish
- Japanese
- Georgian
- Hebrew
Mission of the Chair
- Plan and carry out research studies in the sphere of oriental languages;
- Organize seminars and discussions, to take part in republican and international workshops and symposiums;
- Cooperate with foreign universities.
